The Danfoss Turbocor® TG compressor range has been expanded with several new models for use with HFO-1234ze

Recent international exhibitions have shown that R1234ze is widely accepted as the standard refrigerant in large water chillers. Danfoss builds on the success of the TG310 compressor from 2012 - a groundbreaking centrifugal compressor solution for use with refrigerants with very low global warming potential - and is now presenting four new TG compressors.

Danfoss Turbocor's TG range of refrigerants with very low global warming potential enables water chiller manufacturers to develop environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions that also comply with refrigerant regulations (such as the European F-gas regulation and the US SNAP directive) correspond to the reduction of direct and indirect CO 2 emissions.

Like the current TT compressors, the centrifugal compressors of the TG series are oil-free, speed-controlled and equipped with magnetic bearings. These solutions offer outstanding energy efficiency at full and partial load, a small footprint, low weight, low vibration level, very low noise level, intelligent control components and a soft start. Compared to an equivalent model for R134a, the cooling capacity is approx. 25% lower, but the energy efficiency is somewhat higher.

The new compressor models TG230, TG390 and TG520 are designed for air conditioning applications with standard temperatures.

  • TG230: Offers a nominal output of 230 kW (65 TR) in water-cooled and 175 kW (50 TR) in air-cooled applications. The TG230 compressor is available for nominal input voltages of 400 V, 460 V and 575 V.
  • TG390: Designed for water-cooled water chillers; offers a nominal output of 390 kW (110 TR). The TG390 compressor is available for nominal input voltages of 380 V, 400 V, 460 V and 575 V.
  • TG520: Designed for water-cooled water chillers; offers a nominal output of 520 kW (150 TR). The TG520 compressor is available for nominal input voltages of 380 V, 400 V and 460 V.

A model for medium temperature applications is also available.

  • TG230 MT: Available with the same operating range as the standard temperature version, but with the option of extending the operating range to allow an evaporating temperature of -10 ° C (+14 ° F).

In addition to these models, the TG310 range has been expanded so that a new model is now available for a nominal input voltage of 380 V. Previously, only TG310 versions for 400 V and 460 V were available.

Danfoss takes a proactive approach to encourage the development and use of solutions for low GWP refrigerants. In this way, the company is helping to contain climate change and secure the competitiveness of the industry.

Die TG-Verdichter von Danfoss Turbocor wurden im Rahmen der diesjährigen Verleihung des AHR EXPO Innovation Awards in der Kategorie ,,Grünes Gebäude" lobend erwähnt.
