The groundbreaking technology of ammonia heat pumps for industrial and district heating is nothing new to us. Therefore, at the GEA Heating Club 2023, we elaborated on the high requirements and safety measures for the machinery room according to DIN EN 378 and TRAS 110.
In summary, it is important to know that DIN EN 378 applies generally to all refrigeration systems, TRAS 110 is recommended for ammonia systems with a filling volume exceeding 300kg, and guidelines for ammonia refrigeration systems can be found in VDMA 24020-1.
