Installation-Maintenance

Design Notes

  • Radiators must be dimensioned for a maximum of 50°C flow temperature at the design point. The maximum permissible flow temperature to the buffer tank is 60°C at At>-7°C. Hot water production up to a 50°C storage temperature is possible. The operational range extends to outdoor temperatures of -20 °C with a maximum flow temperature <+35°C. For different operational ranges, stable operation cannot be guaranteed. Technical consultation is necessary. To generate sufficient heating power at At below -15°C, the activation of an electric heating element is necessary. Adequate energy (e.g., from the buffer tank) must be available for defrosting the evaporator.

Laying of the Refrigeration Line Notes

  • Billing will be based on the actual length of the lines. Additionally charged will be: Electrical cable from the heat pump to the evaporator. Included in the price are: Laying of the refrigeration lines, insulation of the refrigeration lines, refrigerant R407c, connection to the evaporator and machine. The refrigeration line is laid within an existing protective pipe. The protective pipe must not be filled before the refrigeration line is installed. The trench must remain open. A specialist provided by the installer must be available for laying the refrigeration line. If no specialist is available, AWE-Wärmepumpen will provide one, and the cost will be additional. The house entry must be prepared and sealed by the client.

Construction Site Notes for Laying the Refrigeration Line

  • The refrigeration line can only be laid by a certified specialist company. Only specific refrigeration copper can be used. If conventional copper piping is used, acceptance will be refused, and the pipe must be replaced. The refrigeration lines must be purged with nitrogen and then hermetically sealed at both ends using hard soldering. In case of inadequate insulation of the refrigeration lines, professional re-insulation will be conducted and billed based on effort at our known rates. Due to flow noise (during defrosting), refrigeration lines must not be laid in inhabited areas. Maximum length of refrigeration lines is 20m between indoor and outdoor units. If exceeded, technical consultation is necessary.

Notes for the Installation of the Evaporator

  • The evaporator (outdoor unit) must be positioned to ensure unhindered air intake and exhaust. To avoid air short-circuits, it is recommended to use AWE concrete bases. Unobstructed drainage of the evaporator's condensate must be ensured.

Commissioning Notes

  • Please complete the commissioning requirement protocol and return it via fax or email. The hydraulic system must be operational and pre-filled with heating water conforming to VDI 2035 T1 and 2. The electrical connection must be completed according to VDE standards by an electrical specialist. The power supply system must be inspected and operational. If the refrigeration line is laid by a certified specialist company, it must follow AWE-Wärmepumpen guidelines (see planning data). The maximum permissible test pressure on the cold side is 25 bar. Additional tasks during commissioning will be charged based on effort. We reserve the right to refuse commissioning if the system is not completed. For a new commissioning, additional commissioning and travel costs will apply. During the floor heating with heat pumps, please note the following: For air-water systems, floor heating must be additionally supported with an electric heating element or similar energy source. Also, dehumidifiers must be installed in rooms to positively influence the drying process. Install an additional heating element as needed. Frequent ventilation of the house is recommended. All drying measures must be coordinated with the floor laying company.
