International award for the Grundfos Scala1

The Grundfos Scala1 5-55 domestic waterworks has received the World Garden Award 2022. The smart complete solution for domestic water supply and garden irrigation convinced the jury with its innovation and functionality and received the award as winner of the 'Professional' class in the 'Household waterworks' category. After winning the internationally renowned design prize German Design Award 2022, this is a further tribute to the pioneering concept of Scala1.

The annual World Garden Awards from the specialist publisher Michael E. Brieden, which specializes in product tests, honor garden products that stand out on the market through new ideas or technologies, durable workmanship, high-quality materials or an outstanding cost/benefit ratio. The jury consists of experienced specialist journalists and test editors. The awards are presented in ten categories and three classes. In the 'Professional' class, the prize recognizes products that are designed for professional use.

The Scala1, which has been awarded for innovation and functionality, is a smart, versatile all-in-one solution for domestic water supply and garden irrigation. The extremely compact system can be used both stationary and mobile and has a particularly quiet, water-cooled motor. Thanks to class IPx4D splash water protection, the domestic waterworks can also be set up directly outdoors without additional housing. The extensive equipment includes numerous integrated protective functions for trouble-free operation, including motor protection, dry-running protection and leakage detection for the pressure line. In addition, the Scala1 has a manually switchable venting function for wells with a high gas content.

Functionality and operation are groundbreaking. In addition to normal operation with the factory settings, the Scala1 can be controlled via the integrated Bluetooth interface using a smartphone with the free Grundfos Go Remote app. For example, an integrated weekly timer is available via the intuitively operated app, with which an individual irrigation program can be set. Additional options are offered by a digital input for external control via a (float) switch or via rain or soil moisture sensors for controlling irrigation. The app can also be used to set the protection parameters individually and carry out firmware updates in order to use future functional expansions.

"With the Scala1 as a smart plug-and-play solution that can be operated via an app, it is more convenient than ever before to use your own water supply in the house and garden while protecting valuable resources and your wallet," explains Jan Claussen, Regional Product Manager Domestic Cold Water. "The renewed award shows that the innovative concept of the Scala1 is well received and points the way for domestic waterworks."
